Starting FTrack CRM in a Stand Alone Computer.

You can use FTrack CRM in a stand alone computer, for example, for evaluating FTrack or for personal use only. Make sure you have launch FTrack Server as explained in the chapter above. Choose on the start menu of the computer where you have installed FTrack CRM option Start>Applications>FTrack CRM>Start FTrack CRM. as shown in the next picture:

If you are using FTrack in a stand alone computer you can also open a web browser and enter the following url: http://localhost:8080/ftrack.

 

The first time you launch FTrack, you will be prompt to enter some additional but essential data for the system. The following image shows the data you will be requested to enter:

The information requested is:

 

Organization: You must enter the name of your organization. FTrack will create a Business Partner that represents your organization. The system will use the attributes entered in your organization as defaults for the rest of the objects (ie: Payment term, currency, etc…)
Mail: The contact mail for the administrator of FTrack so support team can be in contact with him.
Currency: The currency to be used.
Max Query Records: If you manage a lot of information, this value will restrict the number of records to be displayed on every FTrack form. Users will have to use filters.
SQL Format Data: Do not change this entry
Department: The first department is the administrators unit. You can't change this entry.
User: This is the user name for the first administrator created by FTrack the first tim you launch the system. You must use this user name to enter the first time.
Password: The password you want the administrator to use. (Don't forget it)
SMTP Host: This is the SMTP Host that FTrack will use to send emails. If you don't enter any value, FTrack will not be able to send emails. You can set up this value later on from the Administrators menu.
Authentication: Check it if your SMTP Server needs authentication.
User & Password: Enter valid values here only if your SMTP Host requires authentication.

 

Once you hit key {Next} this information will be stored and will not appears any more. FTrack will then take you to the Login screen.
