Services are non material products that can be purchased from suppliers or sold to customers. Typically, Services are items sold in time basis, (eg: Support, consultancy, assitence, etc…) Services might be required when creating Sales Opportunities, Quotations, Sales Orders, etc...

 
There are two ways that an Administrator can add Services (from the main menu):

From the main menu: File>New>New Service
From the main menu: File>Open>Services. FTrack will open the services management form. Then use the push button {New }

 
The Service "Code" is the only required field.

 

To Edit existing Services:

From the main menu: File>Open>Services or File>Open>Services. FTarck will open the Services management form so the user can filter records using the standard procedures or edit any record doing double click on it
From the left tree view option panel: Doing double click on icon Services (

The following image shows an example of service management form:

The information managed on this form is grouped on different tabs:

General:
oCode: This is the service code generated automatically by FTrack
oName: The service name used in listings.
oDescription: Long detailed description for the service.
oActive: Checked if the service can be used from other forms (i.e: to generate orders, etc...)
oFamily: Services can be grouped by families. Families are defined in the Lookup tables form. See administration tools for more.
Details:
oPurchase Price: Price applied when generating purchase orders for this service. See purchase orders for more details.
oFinal Price: Price to be applied when selling the service to a customer. See sales orders for more details.
oSupplier: Organization that supplies the service.
oSuppliers Product Code: Code used internally by the supplier to manage its services.
oBase Measuring Type: Measuring units defined in the Look up tables.
Comments: Long description of the service.
Documents: List of documents related to the service. See Document Management for more details.

 

From the top menu of the products form the following actions are available:

View:
oSupplier: FTrack will open the suppliers form for this service.
Actions:
oAdd Document: FTrack will open a new Document Form to add to the service.

 

To Delete existing services, users must edit the one to remove and use top menu option: File>Delete. If the product has relation of any kind with other system objects (e.g.: part sold to a customer. System supplied by a active supplier, etc…) FTrack will not let the user remove it.
